We’re delighted to welcome a new face to the Crystal Galleries team — meet Steve, our new Screen Print Manager, who brings a wealth of experience from his years at Dunelm Glass. With a career spanning nearly four decades in the screen printing industry, Steve’s precision, knowledge and passion are already making a big impact behind the scenes.

Hi Steve. Can you tell us a bit about your role here at Crystal Galleries?
I’m the Screen Print Manager, which means I oversee all things screen printing — from artwork setup to final print, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to the highest standards.
You joined us from Dunelm Glass – how has the transition been?
It’s gone really well. It’s always a change moving into a new environment, but I’m already starting to feel part of the Crystal Galleries family.
How did you first get into glass decoration and engraving?
I’ve been in the screen print industry since 1987. I first connected with Dunelm back in 2003 when they was looking to bring screen printing in-house rather than outsourcing. That’s when I stepped in to help develop and grow the department.
Are there any particular jobs or techniques you enjoy the most?
Definitely the complex, bespoke work. Over the years I’ve created some really unique pieces — some of them will never be recreated. I enjoy the challenge and creativity that comes with pushing the boundaries of what we can do.
What’s one thing you think customers might not realise about what goes on behind the scenes?
At Dunelm, I was Operations Manager. I was responsible for the entire production team and making sure everything went out on time, and to the standard customers expected. There’s a lot of quality control and careful coordination that happens before a product ever reaches the customer — and that same care continues here at Crystal Galleries.
And finally, how do you unwind after a busy week at work?
I’m a big fan of the coast, dogs, football and family time. Weekends are all about fresh air, my team, and spending time with the people (and pets) I care about.
Welcome aboard, Steve — we’re lucky to have you
